Roy
Roy studied Painting at High Wycombe School of Art. He firstly became a Graphic Designer, starting his own Graphics & Repro Company. With the arrival of computers, the design world changed. While still continuing to work in the print field, Roy was able to spend more time involved in his first love, painting.
He exhibits and sells both Landscapes and Portraits regularly, having work on display at the Verrocchio Centro D’Arte in Italy.
His most notable commission as a Portrait Artist was a family group for the recent past Chairman of L.I.F.F.E. This has led to much interest in his work as a portrait painter.
He will show the students how to use observation in their work as portrait painters. Using the relationship between shapes, tones and colour, the spaces between the forms being as important as the figures themselves.
Students will learn to explore distribution of weight and energy, which makes up the whole person. An exciting and challenging Workshop, for students of all levels. A different approach which will aim to make the mystery of portrait painting understandable.
